The ÌÇÐÄlogo Information Theory Society (ITSoc) has Chapters and Joint Chapters around the world, whichÌýorganize local events for members.ÌýGetting involved in your local Chapter is a great way to meet your peers, attend events and lectures, and expand your personal and professional growth as a volunteer.
Start or Manage an ITSoc Chapter
Interested in starting a new Chapter in your area? ITSoc provides new Chapters with a $3,000 grant to support initial activities. To get started, review ÌÇÐÄlogo's . For assistance with this process, or other Chapter related matters, please contact the Chapters Liaison on the Membership Committee.

Chapter Programs
- Chapter of the Year AwardÌý Each year, ITSoc honors a Chapter for its outstanding programs and activities. For more information, visit the Chapter of the Year Award page.
- Distinguished LecturerÌýProgramÌýÌýInvite a leading expert to present a talk at your Chapter's event. Details on how to participate can be found on the Distinguished LecturerÌýProgram page. See also the most recent List of Distinguished Lecture TopicsÌýfor the list of topics on offer.ÌýÌý
- Chapter Initiatives ProgramÌýChapters may submit proposals to fund events and projectsÌýtargeting IT Soc memebership development at the local level. Typically proposals are no more than $3000, but higher valued proposals will be considered. ÌýSee the application form for more details.
- Networking Event Support ÌýChapters may request up to $500 annuallyÌýto support small-scale networking activities held in conjunction with seminars or meetings (coffee breaks, refreshments, etc). Chapters must have submitted last year's annual report.ÌýFunding is provided as a reimbursement through Concur; a list of attendees is required for reimbursement.ÌýObtain pre-approval by emailing the Membership Committee Chair.
Chapters are encouraged to use phrases such as "Sponsored by the ÌÇÐÄlogo Information Theory Society" and the IT Society logo in your advertising and messaging when using these programs.
