The Center for Science of Information (CSoI) invites nominations and applications for its CSoI Research Fellows program.

Two papers published in the ÌÇÐÄlogo Transactions on Information Theory received the 2010 ÌÇÐÄlogo ComSoc Technical Committee on Data Storage 2010 paper awards.

Stuart Schwartz of Princeton University passed away on August 27, 2011 at the age of 72. He was a past President of the ÌÇÐÄlogo Information Theory Society.

On May 12th, 2011, the information theory community lost one of its prominent members. Jack K. Wolf, Stephen O. Rice Professor of Magnetics at UCSD, passed away at the age of 76 in La Jolla.
