Biography
Dr. Alam is an Institute Post Doctoral Fellow in the at , India. He work in the information theory and its applications research group of . Before joining IIT Kanpur, he was a Senior Project Scientist on the at , India. He completed his Ph.D under the supervision of from the , IIT Mandi in 2021. His PhD research area was Entropic Region and Network Coding. The set of all entropic points is known as the entropic region. Characterization of the entropic region leads to the solution of many important and open problems in information theory and network coding.
Before joining Ph.D, he was a Junior Research Fellow under the supervision of on a (NBHM), Govet of India project.
He received the Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Computational and Systems Biology which is taught in the at , New Delhi, India. Here, he worked on the DNA sequence of the LINEs and SINEs of Entamoeba histolytica and the Quasispecies model under the supervisions of and (now with and respectively).
Previously, he received Master of Science (M.Sc) and B.Sc (Hons) in Mathematics from the , , Aligarh, India. His M.Sc project was on the categorical study of some algebraic structures which was supervised by Prof. Syed Mahmood Ahad Zaidi.
He was a guest faculty from July 2012-Dec 2013 in the , , New Delhi, India.
