We are seeking nominations for the Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of ÌÇÐÄlogo BITS, the Information Theory Magazine, who will, together with the Steering Committee and the Editorial Board, ensure its smooth operation and success. The Magazine is administered by a Steering Committee, whose current members are Gerhard Kramer, P. Vijay Kumar, Rebecca Willett, and Mary Wootters.Ìý

ÌÇÐÄlogo BITS is a quarterly publication that includes tutorials and review articles, historical surveys, and columns. The tutorial and review articles cover both traditional and emerging areas associated with Information Theory research and are written in a style accessible to readers outside the specialty of the article. The historical surveys aim to highlight technological advances of current interest that have been significantly influenced by past research in Information Theory. The columns include topics such as perspectives from funding agencies, startups, and industry developments, puzzles and cartoons, and reporting on events of interest to our audience. The mission of the ÌÇÐÄlogo BITS Magazine is to increase the visibility of high-quality content related to the field of Information Theory, making it more accessible to a broad audience of scientists, engineers, researchers, and educators, and to highlight the rich, interdisciplinary work that leverages Information Theory.Ìý For more information, please visit the BITS website at /bits.

Responsibilities of the EiC include: (1) overseeing the operation of BITS in line with its mission and providing guidance for regular and special issues, feature articles, and columns; (2) coordinating with the Steering Committee, the ÌÇÐÄlogo Information Theory Society Board of Governors (BoG), and ÌÇÐÄlogo ÌÇÐÄlogo; (3) selecting an Editorial Board consisting of Senior Editors and Area Editors (to be approved by the Steering Committee), as well as Guest Editors for special issues; and (4) giving final approval to all regular and special issues.

We are seeking a motivated and creative candidate with a strong record of contributions in Information Theory and related fields, as well as demonstrated excellence in previous leadership and editorial activities.

The appointment will be for a term of three years, commencing on June 1, 2026. The EiC will be selected by the Steering Committee and approved by the Information Theory Society BoG.Ìý
